Welcome to Winter Term
Winter term classes began Tuesday, January 19. If you have any questions about important dates, please refer to the academic calendar for 2020-2021. We hope your winter break has been wonderful and we look forward to connecting soon!
Schedule an Advising Appointment
Academic advisors are available for any questions you have; schedule an individual advising appointment in the Advising System. Please note that for the time being, all advising sessions will be held via Google Meet, unless discussed in advance. Please request any desired alternate mode of connecting when scheduling. An advisor will reach out to you at the appropriate time.
Graduate Advising Drop-In Hours:
Tuesdays and Wednesdays (during fall & winter terms)
We will not host drop-in hours on the Student Wellness days: Feb 24 and March 23. We're available via email if you need us!
Registration for Fall 2021 will take place April 5-16. Please take time to review the registration information page on iMpact for your respective class:
Many students have asked questions about the updated grading policy that UM has implemented for the Fall 2020/Winter 2021 semesters. Please review this FAQ document for helpful information and answers to the common questions we are hearing.
Ross Academic peer advising:
In addition to your assigned academic advisor, Ross Academic Peer Advisors (RAPAs) are available to provide student perspectives and advice on academics at Ross and UM.
Senior BBAs Alana Gartenberg, Brian Lucido, and Zaria Koch (pictured above, left to right), are our Ross Academic Peer Advisors for the 2020-2021 academic year. You may schedule an appointment to meet with them, or visit this page for information on how to connect with them during their drop-in hours.
UNDERGRADUATE Academic Advising:
Drop-in hours for the Winter 2021 term will be held Monday-Friday from 2-3:30 p.m. (Eastern). Please visit this page for more information about drop-in hours and how to connect with an advisor.
BBA students may also schedule an appointment to meet with an academic advisor during posted appointment times (usually posted two weeks in advance) or reach out to us via email.
Ross Registrar's Office
The Ross Registrar's Office (formerly Academic Services) is located in Kresge Hall, Suite K3521. We are open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Due to the evolving impact of the COVID-19 virus, the Ross Registrar's Office will continue to work remotely through the end of the Fall 2020 semester, and are not holding drop-in hours at this time. However, please know that we are still here to support you through your Ross and University of Michigan experience. Fall Term Exam Schedules
Are you really registered for the classes that you're planning to attend this Fall? Have you made sure you know when your exams are before you buy that perfect flight?
Make sure you know when your final exams are! View the Ross final exam schedules BEFORE making any travel plans.
If you have a conflict between two class exams, or have documentation for exam accommodations, be sure to notify and work with your instructor as soon as possible at the start of the semester.
Questions? Please reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Preparing for Academic Success
- Check your schedule periodically, especially in the week before a drop/add deadline! Why this is important: Students can't change the grading basis of a course after the drop/add deadline. Also, if you have to late drop a course, the class will still count towards your term total units as well as remain on your record.
- Be sure that you're taking classes which will fulfill your degree requirements. Review the Core Curriculum page, schedule an appointment with your academic advisor, and/or review the "My Academic Requirements" link in Wolverine Access.
- Take a glance at your program's Bulletin. This handy resource contains answers to nearly all of the questions you may have about academic policies!
- If you would like to improve your performance in a class, reach out to the instructor for tutor references.
- Consider using Ross Communication Consulting for help with assignments.
