RossWirelessUM - Instructions for Windows XP

Connecting to MWireless-Ross on a machine running Windows XP requires a few extra steps. You must also have the latest Windows Updates installed, including Service Pack 3.



Select MWireless-Ross from your available networks list. Click Connect.



You will see this message pop up at the bottom of the screen.



In the list of wireless networks, choose change advanced settings.



Click the Wireless Networks tab. Highlight MWireless-Ross. Click Properties.



Click the Authentication tab. In the EAP type field, select Protected EAP (PEAP). Click Properties



Make sure Secured password (EAP-MSCHAP v2) is selected under "Select Authentication Method". Click Configure.



Make sure the box is NOT checked.



This bubble will appear at the bottom of your screen. Click this bubble.



A login box will appear. Enter your uniqname and password (you should leave the logon domain blank). Click OK.



This bubble will appear at the bottom of your screen. Click this bubble.



Click OK to validate the Server Certificate.



You might see a bubble indicating you have "limited or no connectivity." This is fine, just wait a moment for it to finish connecting.



After a moment, you should get a bubble indicating you have officially connected to MWireless-Ross.
