Our teams work very closely with the central University technology group (ITS) and, often, with other schools and colleges on campus to create a real community of technology leadership and advances. Students move freely around campus, enjoying all the technology, classrooms, libraries, and meeting spaces that UM has to offer. Faculty collaborate broadly across the institution on teaching and research. We best serve the needs of Ross when we consider and advocate for the best technology and service needs of the University community.
Our department is organized in the following units to carry out these principles:
Our HelpDesk provides front-line support for all of your technology questions and issues. They will purchase and maintain your computer and software, set up your email account, resolve printer issues, triage network outages, etc. Always contact the HelpDesk group for any issue or outage.
Classroom Support is very much like the HelpDesk except they focus on audio, video and computer technologies in our classrooms, study space, teaching spaces and labs.
A Network Services team is the back office group that designs and manages our core physical infrastructure of the video, voice and data networks, file space, security, wireless network, accounts, file backups, etc. Services are monitored 24/7.
The Web Development and Video teams provide customized web-based business applications and support the marketing/communication needs of the school through the creation of web sites, video, etc. This is the group that brings you iMpact, the Ross School's information portal with enterprise directories, calendars, career services, alumni directories, study room reserves and much more.
A Software Support team is "expert certified" with the Microsoft Office Suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) to help you with questions, resolve those quirky problems, teach you how to use advanced featuers, like the Equation Editor or Pivot Tables, and help you jazz up your reports, charts, graphs and presentations.
Education and Training
We provide Education and Training to help you make sense of all the various technologies and how best to use them in your teaching, research and work.
Last, but not least, a talented team provides help and assistance on all that you need that is not covered above. We can help you create documents, design posters for your event or conference, loan you equipment, and, most important, help navigate the larger University to get you answers or resolutions to technology issues.
If I can help along the way, please give me a call.
